My Specialties

I specialize in curating National Park adventures in the US & beyond, UNESCO World Heritage Site historical & cultural exploration, and Wildlife Tourism. I'm also happy to help plan your upcoming River or Ocean Cruise, Disney vacation,

and other wandering excursions.

How a National Park lover became a Travel Advisor

I didn’t become a National Parks-focused Travel Advisor because I wanted to book camping reservations. I became one because I was that person who spent hours researching how to visit every single National Park across the country, mapping out the unique experiences available in each park from hiking the Highline in Glacier National Park to sledding the sand dunes in White Sands and sea kayaking in Channel Islands. I focused on what was needed to experience these magical places safely & comfortably for maximum enjoyment whether you prefer to stay in hotels, rental homes, campgrounds, or travel by RV.

Through personal experience I realized planning travel is complicated and can make you stressed out and grumpy. So given my natural wanderlust & interest in helping others explore the world, I created Happy Wandering Travel to make wandering a happy experience for people who want their vacations to feel like epic experiences, not just trips.

Why Work with a Travel Advisor?

I Actually Get It.

When you tell me you are on a quest to visit all 63 US National Parks, want a cruise to Antigua for a sailing excursion out of Nelson's Dockyard, or tour the Schonbrunn Palace and gardens in Vienna, or snorkel with whale sharks in Cabo.

I’ve Done the Homework! 53 National Parks & counting, 50 States, DC & 3 US Territories, visiting 20 countries and living overseas aren’t just numbers. It’s years of scouting locations, plotting logistics, testing excursions & tours, and figuring out which experiences are worth the time and money.

I know when and where to lodge so you can see and hear the bugling elk of Yellowstone. I know the best time to visit American Samoa for epicurean delicacies or cultural immersion stays. I know the best small group tours to get crampons on your feet allowing you to explore an Alaskan glacier.

I Design Around YOU!

No cookie-cutter itineraries here. Every trip I plan is fully personalized around your interests, pace, and budget.

Whether you want a luxury river cruise, Tuscan cultural retreat, or a budget-friendly roadtrip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How much does travel planning cost?

Answer: After a complimentary consultation meeting, my planning fees range from $150-500 based on the length & complexity of the trip. This professional planning fee ensures you get expert guidance tailored to your specific travel dreams.

Question: How far in advance should I book?

Answer: This really depends on: what you want to do, where you want to go and if it is tied to a natural phenomenon. For example, you can't see the Northern Lights above the Arctic Circle in July. Popular locations book up quickly during peak seasons for National Parks like Glacier, Grand Tetons, Katmai, and Yellowstone, so planning two years in advance can be necessary. The earlier you book, the better. For international trips, I recommend booking at least 6-12 months in advance for best availability and pricing.

Question: Do you only work with National Park fans?

Answer: While I’m a National Park-focused travel advisor and it is both my passion and specialty, I welcome anyone drawn to wildlife, historic & cultural sites, and unique experiences with a sprinkle of adventure.

Question: What's included in your planning service?

Answer: Complete itinerary design, flight arrangements, accommodations, guided tours, local experiences, restaurant recommendations, and all booking coordination. Every detail handled so you can focus on the adventure. I can book as little or as much as you would like me to book for you.

Question: Can you work within my budget?

Answer: Absolutely! I design trips for various budget levels and I will be transparent and upfront about costs during our consultation.
